TVLink Remote Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
This policy explains how TVLink Remote handles information when you use the app. TVLink Remote is published by Anand Alagappan, an individual operating under the Subbu App Tech brand. Subbu App Tech is a brand name, not a registered company.
What the app does
TVLink Remote connects your phone to an Android TV or Google TV device that you choose. It discovers TVs on your local network, pairs with a TV, and sends remote-control commands. The app does not require an account and, in its current release, does not include advertising, in-app purchases, analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or a developer-operated app backend.
Information handled on your device
To provide its features, the app may process and store the following information locally on your device:
- TV name, local network address, connection ports, device type, pairing date, certificate fingerprint, optional MAC address, and your selected remote layout.
- Your saved app shortcuts, including shortcut names and URLs, and app settings such as theme and remote layout preferences.
- A client certificate and private key used for TV pairing, stored through the platform's secure storage facility.
- Diagnostic logs, which may include TV names, network addresses, connection errors, and voice-session technical measurements.
The app may read your current Wi-Fi name and your phone's local IP address to show network information in the app. This is best-effort and is not sent to a developer server by the app.
Local network communication
TV discovery uses multicast DNS on your local network. Pairing and remote control communicate directly with the TV you select using the Android TV Remote Service protocol over TLS. The app sends commands you choose, text you enter for the TV, and app shortcut links you activate. Wake-on-LAN, when you use it, sends a local network wake packet containing the TV's configured MAC address.
These transfers go to the TV or device you choose, not to a server operated by the publisher. Your TV manufacturer, TV operating system, streaming apps, or other services may process information after receiving it under their own terms and privacy policies.
Microphone and voice search
If you press and hold the voice-search control and grant microphone permission, the app captures audio for that voice-search session and streams it to the selected TV over the encrypted remote connection. The publisher does not receive or store this audio on a publisher-operated server. The selected TV or a voice-search service used by that TV may process the audio; their processing is governed by their own privacy terms. You can decline microphone permission and continue using other remote features.
Support and sharing
Logs remain in the app's private storage unless you choose to share them. The app may offer to attach logs when you start a support email, and you can decline. If you use Contact Support, the email draft is addressed to admin@subbuapptech.in and copies anandsubbu0@gmail.com. If you send an email, its contents and any attachment are handled by your email provider and delivered to those recipients. You can also choose another destination through your device's sharing interface. Review shared content before sending it.
For privacy questions or requests, contact contactus@subbuapptech.in or anandsubbu7@gmail.com. Since the app has no publisher-operated account or app-data backend, the publisher cannot remotely erase information stored only on your phone or TV.
Retention and deletion
Saved TV details and preferences remain on your device until you remove them in the app, clear the app's data, or remove the app, subject to operating-system backup and storage behavior. Use the device-management screen to forget a saved TV. The client identity is stored separately from the saved TV list, so forgetting a TV does not necessarily remove that identity. Diagnostic logs remain in app-private storage until removed by operating-system or app-data management; the app does not currently provide a separate log-deletion control. Information already sent to a TV, email provider, or sharing recipient is outside the app's local deletion controls.
Permissions and security
Depending on your device and the feature used, the app may request microphone access for voice search and network, Wi-Fi, local-network, or location-related access for discovery and network information. Permissions can be managed in your device settings. Pairing and remote-control traffic uses TLS, and the app's client key is stored using platform secure storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free.
Children
TVLink Remote is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The publisher does not knowingly collect children's information through a publisher-operated service.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the app's features or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy and, where appropriate, communicated in the app.
